DESCRIPTION:History comes alive in Downtown Taunton! \n\n\nJoin the Old Colony History Museum and an amazing group of reenactors and demonstrators for Liberty & Union Day\, a free\, family-friendly celebration of Taunton’s revolutionary spirit and our community’s place in the American story. \n\n\nAs we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution\, step back in time and experience the sights\, sounds\, stories\, and traditions of the 18th century right here in the heart of Taunton. \n\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT: Revolutionary War reenactors & living history Historic demonstrations and activities Traditional crafts and hands-on experiences Tours of the Museum and First Parish Church Family-friendly fun for all ages \n\n\nThe Liberty & Union Festival celebrates the remarkable events of October 1774\, when Taunton became one of the first communities in the colonies to publicly raise a flag in opposition to British rule.
