DESCRIPTION:Join the Old Colony History Museum and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) – Robert Treat Paine Chapter as we pay tribute to Taunton’s signer of the Declaration of Independence and kick off our celebration of 250 years of American independence.\nReserve your free tickets today thanks to the Creative SouthCoast Initiative Fund of the SouthCoast Community Foundation. \nEvent Schedule\n11:00 AM – Revolutionary Walking TourCheck in at the museum and join a procession to the Robert Treat Paine statue for a wreath-laying ceremony with musket fire\, followed by a guided walking tour of Taunton’s Revolutionary history. \n1:00 PM & 1:30 PM – Gallery Talk with Curator Bronson MichaudA short gallery talk in the Military Room featuring stories from the American Revolution through objects from the museum’s collection. (Same talk offered twice.) \n2:00 PM – Guest Lecture: From Slaves to SoldiersLocal historian and reenactor Jason Roomes explores the African American experience in the American Revolution\, including the story of his own ancestor. \nThis event is supported by the Creative SouthCoast Initiative Fund of the SouthCoast Community Foundation.
