History Never Tasted So Good!

Join us this September for a Members-Only event at the Old Colony History Museum: Old Colony Bake Off!

Whip up a dish from the past and bring it to the table as we celebrate culinary traditions and taste our way through history. Whether you’re competing or just sampling, it’s sure to be a flavorful morning of food, fun, and friendly judging. When you register, there will be a choice to be a Baker or a Taster. Bakers–you’ll get an email from us with the detailed recipes.

👩‍🍳 Bakers will receive an email with three historic recipes from our collection to choose from — pick your favorite and bring your creation to share. (Bakers also get to taste!) The recipe options are:

  • “Molasses Oatmeal Cookies” from the 1966 Dighton Historical Society Cookbook
  • “Pumpkin Bars” from the 1989 Brick House School Cookbook
  • “Apple Crisp” from What’s Cooking in Taunton! 1952

🍴 Tasters just need to bring their appetite, sample all the entries, and help crown a winner!

RSVP to join and let us know if you’d like to be a baker or a taster!

It’s a fun (and flavorful!) way to explore culinary history with fellow members.
