Lester Vaughan Collection
This collection from the Old Colony History Museum features pewter wares by Lester Vaughan, a skilled pewter artisan from the early 20th century known for crafting elegant and durable dining wares, such as plates, platters, and bowls, that reflect the traditions of functional artistry in the Old Colony region.

Bowl
Bowl with flat bottom and beveled and tapering top rim. Heavy construction, more than other LV pieces. Bottom has an incised groove. Bottom etched with model number "697"

Bowl with simple cut rim. Heavier construction than other LV pieces. Bottom has an incised groove.

Small bowl with grooved upper edge. Material could be aluminum, a metal LV used around WWII. Markings omit the word 'pewter' that he usually incorporated into the majority of his pewter pieces, leading to the consideration that this may be aluminum. In addition, LV also carried a lighter post-war 1930's, "Berkeley" pewter line, although these were normally marked as such.

Shallow bowl with outturned rim with grooved lip. Basic footed base. Similar to 2010.18. Bottom etched with model number "#689"

Plate may be used with 2010.27 or 2010.30, which carry the same model number, #267. Listed in catalogue as being for mayonnaise. Bottom etched with model number "#267"
